A Cessna 172 plane navigated by a student pilot crashed into a home in Santa Monica, California in the neighborhood of Sunset Park. Ironically, the home was being remodeled at the time of the crash. Four painters heard a strange noise and turned and noticed the plane coming straight for them, clipping some trees of a nearby house before landing on the home they were working on.
The home is owned by actress Rachel Blanchard who has enjoyed a long career dating back to 1984 and has included such notable productions as the TV series, 7th Heaven. The crash ignited a small fire on Rachel’s home which the quick-thinking painters extinguished with a garden hose. Unique Restoration responded to the crash by providing emergency boardup service.
